CAIM series provide a forum for the review of the recent trends in applied and industrial mathematics either from a qualitative or from a numerical point of view. Computer science communications are welcome.

Since theoretical studies find sooner or later their applicability, the conference has also sections for the theoretical branches of mathematics like algebra, probability theory, mathematical statistics or geometry.

A special section of the conference is dedicated to the mathematical teaching.

Technical University of Moldova

The Technical University of Moldova was founded in 1964, under the name The Polytechnic Institute of Chișinău, as an education center with engineering and economic specialties transferred from the Moldova State University. Currently, the Technical University of Moldova registers a total of 11,500 students. The institution offers courses in about 150 specialties and specializations, within 11 faculties: TUM also provides postgraduate education (Master’s and Doctoral degrees), as well as refresher training courses for the academic staff. Over the 59 years of its activity, UTM has succeeded in preparing an extensive number of specialists, with an employment rate of 85%. The University includes a Tech-Science Library with reading rooms, workshop spaces for digital manufacturing, as well as IT centers.

Institute of Statistical Mathematics and Applied Mathematics of Romanian Academy

The Institute of Mathematical Statistics and Applied Mathematics “Gheorghe Mihoc-Caius Iacob” of the Romanian Academy (abbreviated ISMMA) was founded by the Romanian Government Decision no. 1366 of December 27, 2001, which ordered the merger of the Institute of Applied Mathematics with the Center for Mathematical Statistics “Gheorghe Mihoc” (at that time, research units subordinated to the Romanian Academy)....
Historically, the roots of applied mathematics in Romania lie in researches conducted before 1990, and mainly in continuous media mechanics. However, the institutionalization of applied mathematics research, begun in 1991 with the establishment of the Institute of Applied Mathematics of the Romanian Academy. The steps of this realization were made with devotion by Professor Adelina Georgescu (1942-2010) together with a group of researchers from the former INCREST and the Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology in Bucharest, under academician Caius Iacob’s careful guidance and with academician N.N. Constantinescu’s essential support (N.N. Constantinescu was the general secretary of the Romanian Academy at that time).
Mission:
  • fundamental scientific research in probability theory, mathematical statistics, operational research, optimization, partial differential equations, optimal control theory, dynamical systems, numerical analysis, fluid mechanics;
  • mathematical modeling, analysis and control of models in life sciences and environment, engineering sciences, economics;
  • interdisciplinary researches.

Romanian Society of Applied and Industrial Mathematics - ROMAI

Mens Creativa, Mathematica Applicata

The Romanian Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics - ROMAI - is a scientific organization. It has no political or lucrative purposes.

The ROMAI society was founded in 1992, at the initiative of Professor Adelina Georgescu (1942-2010), by a decision of the Court of Law of the Sixth District of Bucharest.

The ROMAI mainly purposes are:

- To develope and to promote Mathematics and its applications in other sciences and industry

- To coordinate and to support the scientific activity of its members.

- To protect the interests of its members in relation with state institutions or other parties.

In the present time the ROMAI society includes about 120 full members almost all of them from Romania and Republic of Moldavia.

The current activity of the society is rulled by a board: a president, four vice-presidents, one secretary and one treasurer.
